Polestar Elite Series
Compact yet Dynamic

  • The adjustable angle rubidium iron-boron tweeter creates a sound stage is that wide and delicate
  • The specially coated mid-bass composite paper diaphragm provides a natural low frequency performance that is both transparent and flexible
  • High-quality low-error crossovers ensure the consistency of the sound of each speaker.
  • Gold-plated terminal blocks provide lossless signal transmission and rich details
  • High-rigidity cabinets made of first-class plastics and a precision-fitted metal grille eliminate resonance to provide clean acoustics
  • In-wall speaker (ceiling speaker) and backbox design:
The basis of low frequency reproduction resides in the synergy between the acoustics of the cabinet and the performance of the drivers. During the design phase the design engineer can achieve optimal performance by tweaking the dimensions of the cabinet. The backbox on this speaker cabinet not only improves acoustic performance but also acts a vapor barrier to prevent dampness from seeping into the cabinet. When driver diaphragms are damp the life span is shortened and performance will deteriorate as well.

Speakers with a backbox can also prevent vermin intrusion such as cockroaches and mice. Speakers without a backbox cannot prevent cockroach incursions or the complications that arise when mice chew wires.

    System Audition

  • Transformers 3
  • Polestar Elite Series 5.1 System
  • Front Speakers:IN-82BX
  • Center Speaker:IN-82BX
  • Surround Speakers:IN-82BX
  • Subwoofer:W-SW10D
  • The Transformers series is the very definition of the summer sci-fi blockbuster. The movie is overfull of refreshing metal acoustics and the exotic chirps of alien technology. For the audition we selected the segment of the collapsing skyscraper.

As the scene starts the vocal dialogue is at once recognizable and warm. As the camera cuts back and forth between the actors, the IN-82BX is able to convey the details of the human voice without acoustic drift or positioning distortion while still maintaining good transient response. The performance of the vocal midrange is very natural with very realistic portrayals of the noises in the throat as well. From the first impression the bass performance of the IN-82BX is superb and it does not lose out to larger size cabinets.

A highlight of the scene is the high pitched screeches as the very many windows of the Chicago sky scrapers are shattered. The high frequency reproduction by the IN-82BX’s neodymium tweeter is very clear and delicate and one is able to differentiate between the various sounds of the glass interactions. This is all possible in such a small cabinet because of the ingenious design of the treble feedback hole. The high frequency performance of this cabinet is one of smooth transitions without pitchiness.

With the built in back box design of the IN-82BX the bass frequency reproduction is fantastic. The boom of the collapsing skyscrapers, the clangs of robotic combat and the roar of automatic weapons fire all envelops the viewer and there is never a sense that the bass production may be weak or flagging. Even in the low frequencies produced during an explosion the IN-82BX there is no sign of low bass breakup. As a small cabinet the IN-82BX is dynamic and punches way above its weight class. The IN-82BX is the top choice whether you are constrained in either space or budget.

The Polestar Elite Series 5.1 or upgraded 7.1 system is a stellar choice for those inhibited by either space of budget.
