Presenting Polestar VIW series professional grade private theater custom installation speakers

The Polestar brand was founded in Canada in 2002 and is synonymous with cost effective high performance speakers. Word of mouth describes Polestar products as having robust components, excellent workmanship and sound performance that surpasses expectations.
You may think that as a relatively young brand, Polestar may not have the catalogue to suit your needs but rest assured our product line is very diverse. From traditional cabinets to custom in wall or in ceiling speakers, Polestar has got it all.
With increased market share the Polestar brand has started to become a household name and we are pleased to announce a new series of VIW cinema in wall speakers.
The VIW real wood series speakers are coated with a moisture-proof, wear-resistant black sand paint. At first glance, you are imbued with a feeling of a professionally built speaker that is different from ordinary plastic boxes. Employing a minimalist aesthetic, the simple right-angled edges are straight to the eye and give a sense of stability.
Like the dawn on a cold winter morning the tweeter cover is a bold fiery red that commands your attention. As the eye is drawn there it observes the fine quality of the finish and the stark proclamation of the Polestar logo.
The cabinet of the speakers are outfitted with metal dog legs for convenient installation. The end user need only place the cabinet within the cut out enclosure and secure the dog legs. The ease of installation is paramount when under the pressure of completing a project and our intuitive system allows for a much more relaxed atmosphere.
The cabinet has a 1” aluminum tweeter, a 5” paper composite midrange and two 8” paper composite woofers to from a 3-way, 4 driver sealed cabinet design. Polestar speakers have always aimed to use affordable components to produce high fidelity performance.
Due to the internal reinforcement of the cabinet and the large subwoofer, the speaker weighs in at a hefty 16kg.
Two small openings can be found on the back of the speaker. The purpose of these opening is twofold. First the openings act as a heat dissipation port for the bass components and secondly this prevents non laminar flow from disrupting operation of the components.
Typically an 8” woofer must have a large magnetic circuit in order to produce good low-frequency and transient responses. To have a smooth frequency response and good heat dissipation a small hole is bored in the magnet of the driver. The size of the hole needs to be carefully calculated and the type of speaker must also be taken into account. A small hole in the driver of a bass reflex design is acceptable but if a sealed cabinet design is used then when large amplitudes are reproduced, the negative air pressure within the cabinet will cause air to flow in from the outside and cause distortions.
System Audition

The demo is the scene of the final confrontation between Ip Man and Zhang Tianzhi in the martial arts hall. The vocal dialogue during the scene is very accurate. The voice positioning of the center channel V-IW6C is very precise.
In the first round the weapons used are sticks and the flow of action is very quick. The Polestar V-IW8F are able to quickly and accurately reproduce the strength and crispness of the stick on stick combat. The transient response is also fantastic due to the composite paper cone 8” woofer and the specially designed cabinet structure. The violence of the reproduction matches the violence on screen while not skimping on the details. Small details like the scuffing of shoes on the wooden floor are also not to be missed. The rhythm from fast to slow; from broad to subtle are restored extremely well.
Knives are the implements in the second round. Of note in this scene are the sounds of metal on metal contact as the blades meet along with the swishes as they flash through the air. The high frequency performance is very crisp and clear, and the level of detail is extraordinary. The keenness of the blades is fully depicted in an aural capacity and submerges the viewer in the scene. The V-IW8F is able to depict the metal ringing of blade dragging on blade very naturally without feeling harsh or frizzy.
In the final round the two combatants settle things with their fists. The elasticity and fullness of the bass when punches connect with the body is truly balanced. As the final blows land, one is amazed at the sense of scale and spacing.
As a custom installation product, the expressiveness and cost-effectiveness of the Polestar VIW series will satisfy any customer. The VIW series will drive big action set pieces while still faithfully reproducing the smallest details. This series also provides convenient installation with flexible installation configurations (special wall mounting bracket with adjustable angles).
